Is self-storage safe?
Yes. All Pelican locations have video-surveillance and modern security system, included in price. There is staff at all our centers on weekdays from 10:00 to 18:00, and weekends from 10 to 14. Our centers are well secured and require a personal access code to enter the area. Moreover, all our storages have extra secure locks.
Is there a risk for humidity and frost?
No. When you store your things at Pelican you do not have to worry about humidity or frost in your storage. All our storages have heating and modern ventilation systems to ensure that your storage always has a normal humidity level.
Is there enough space?
Yes. We can find a tailored solution for every business need. We have storages available in all sizes from 1 to 160m2. Our standard height for storages is 2.7 meters, however if you need some extra ceiling space, we can also offer storages with 6 m up to the ceiling. Can I change storage size?
Yes, and it's free. If you suddenly need less or extra storage space, we can quickly and easily help you. We can either offer you a new storage room or offer you an extra room. It's all up to you.
When can I access my storage?
You can access your storage every day between 5:30-24:00. In case you need assistance, the reception will be open typically between 10:00 and 18:00 on weekdays. You can find the exact reception opening hours of your local center here.
How much space do I need?

What is an XL storage?
An XL storage unit can be up to 160 m2, and it has either an extra wide garage door or up to 6m space to the celling. At the moment XL units are only available at our center in Amagerbro. For more information please contact us at +45 80 20 70 40.
What is a garage storage?
With a storage unit with a garage door you can, literally, drive directly into your unit. All units are inside a secured area, which you can only access with a key tag or pin code. At the moment garage units are available at following centers: Virum, Hillerød, Gladsaxe, Sydhavnen, Rødovre and Amagerbro.
What is a Flex unit?
With a flex unit you get most flexible storage solution on the market. We have combined traditional storage with an opportunity for a workspace – whether it is an administrative workplace, workshop or a storage facility, that meet your needs. Flex units are a new and very popular storage product, where we have combined the storage unit with the opportunity for organizing your administrative workplace, workshop or showroom in the same place. You get a unit with windows and a lot of daylight, heating that you can adjust yourself and electricity. In case you need more space for a shorter or longer period of time, you always have a possibility to rent extra storage space tailored for your exact needs. Flex units are from 35 m2 to 135 m2. Do you offer office spaces?
Can I rent a parking space?
Yes. With your personal parking space in or around Copenhagen, you do not have to waste your time on finding parking anymore. For more information about parking spaces please contact us at [email protected].
You can rent parking spaces at our centers in Gladsaxe, Hillerød, Sydhavnen, Virum and Østerbro. At our center in Østerbro it is possible to rent both indoors and outdoors parking spaces. Contact us to hear more about which options are available at different locations.
How does the reservation of a storage work?
When you reserve a storage, you will get a booking confirmation on your email. In less than 24 hours we will contact you regarding the reservation. Signing the contract and payment will take place later at the Pelican center that you have chosen. The reservation offer is valid for 3 days.
Is the reservation binding?
No, the reservation is non-obligatory and free of charge. The payment takes place only after the contract has been signed.
Is the binding period long?
No. At Pelican you can terminate your contract agreement at the last day of the month if you contact us before the 15th. in the same month unless agreed otherwise.
What documents do I need to provide to rent a storage at Pelican?
For security reasons we need to see picture id and your cpr-number. If you do not have a cpr-number, we need your passport id.
Do you offer moving services?
Yes, Pelican works with Express-Flyt and we have special deals for our customers where you can save up to 25%. For only 695 DKK per hour you will have two movers. For more information click here or contact us on +45 80 20 70 40.
Do you rent trailers?
Yes. If you choose to move by yourself, you can get one of our free trailers for up to 24 hours. For more information click here.
Do you offer boxes and other moving materials?
Yes, you can purchase anything from moving boxes to bubble wrap at Pelican. Come by one of your local centers or check out our assortment here.
How does the charging work?
If it is the first time you are using Pelican, there will be a service fee of 150 DKK as well as an additional charge of 149 DKK for a new lock and key. If you have previously been a customer, there will be no service fee. You can also re-use your lock, therefore you do not have to buy a new one.
Can I use my own lock for my storage?
It depends. Pelican are using special locks to keep a high safety level. If you have used Pelican before, and you are in the possession of a Pelican lock, you can reuse this lock. If you do not have a Pelican lock you have to buy one in the reception.
What payment methods do you accept?
At Pelican we accept most domestic- and international credit cards.
What happens if I am late with my payment?
Usually, we give you a friendly reminder. If you do not react on our reminders you are in risk of getting a fine. If you continuously do not respond to any of our enquiries we might have to block the access to your storage.
Security & Insurance
Is it necessary to have an insurance?
Yes. It is a requirement from Pelican’s side that your storage has an insurance. The price varies depending on the value of the items you store, and it is not included in the offer.
How does insurance at Pelican work?
If an accident happens please contact our site staff immediately. They will help you through the insurance process, so you get your compensation as fast as possible.
Storage for business
Can I dispose my packaging and cardboard waste?
Yes. Pelican can help you to get rid of your packaging plastic and cardboard waste. Most of our centers have trash containers, so you do not have to waste time or money on waste disposal elsewhere. Contact us on 80 20 70 40 to hear more about which centers that offer waste disposal.
Can you receive my packages when I am not there?
Yes. Our staff can accept your package deliveries on weekdays from 10 to 18, and weekends from 10 to 14. In that time frame we can receive your packages and store them safely, until you can come by and take it to your storage. You will receive an SMS from us when we have received your packages.
Can I borrow a trolley or other warehouse equipment?
Yes. All our centers have warehouse equipment, including lifter, hand truck, trolley, and ladder, that you can borrow free of charge.
Is there light and electricity in my storage?
Some of our storages have light inside and some storages have electricity. Please contact us on +45 80 20 70 40 to hear about storage conditions.
Can I park in front of my storage?
Yes. If you have a garage, you can park right in front of your storage to load and unload. We have a few centers where it is even possible to drive a truck all the way into the storage. Also, private parking is free for all customers at the center area.
Can I operate my business from a Pelican storage?
Yes, it is possible. We have several customers that actively use their storages to operate their business. At our Amagerbro location we have storages with windows and exit to the street, which some of our customers adapted to a shop with showroom, meeting facilities, as well as their storage. Those storages have lights, heaters and plugs.
Is there free coffee?
Yes. You are always welcome to get a free cup of coffee or hot chocolate in the reception at all our Pelican locations.
What happens if I lose a key from my storage?
When you buy a lock from Pelican you will get three keys to your unique lock. If you accidentally lose all keys we can call for a locksmith, who can open the storage for you. Pelican charge 450 DKK in total for the service.
How do I move out?
If you want to terminate your Storage Unit, Pelican must have received a written notice of termination not later than on the 15th day of the current month. The rented unit has to be cleared and cleaned no later than 12:00 on the day of leaving. If you have questions or are in doubt about the terms of termination, please contact your local Pelican site.
Is there free parking?

Are there things I cannot store at Pelican?
You cannot store easily flammable substances, food or illegal possessions. For anything but these, we have plenty of unit. See our terms and conditions for more detailed information.
